What working with Nvirocool looks like
Nvirocool was founded in 2011 and has grown from a Newton Park base into a service team supporting Gqeberha, Uitenhage, Despatch, Jeffreys Bay, Graaff-Reinet and Port Alfred. Our work is practical and hands-on. One day may involve a planned maintenance visit at a cold room, the next a chiller fault call, a leak check, or a gas conversion for a client looking to lower environmental impact and running costs.
We value people who can work carefully, keep records tidy, and treat every site with respect. That includes food storage rooms, retail refrigeration, industrial chillers and smaller commercial systems. You will often be working around live operations, so punctuality and good judgement matter.
Roles we commonly hire for
We do not only look for technicians. A strong service business needs people who can plan, support, communicate and follow through. Depending on the team's needs, we hire for field, office and project support roles.
- Refrigeration technicians and assistants
- Service co-ordination and call handling
- Accounts and admin support
- Project support for retrofit work
- Energy audit and reporting assistance
If you have experience with cold rooms, split systems, chillers, controls or temperature monitoring, mention that clearly. If you are still building experience, say what you have worked on and what tools or systems you know. We can see the difference between theory and site experience, and both can count.
Skills that help you fit in here
We work with clients who need reliability, not excuses. A good candidate is comfortable with early starts, site rules, and the pressure that comes with breakdowns. You do not need to know everything on day one, but you should be willing to learn and work neatly.
- Refrigeration fault-finding and maintenance habits
- Basic electrical awareness and safe isolation practice
- Ability to read gauges, controls and temperature logs
- Clean handover notes and clear phone updates
- Respect for food safety, warehouse rules and customer property
We also appreciate practical people who understand the Eastern Cape climate. Coastal humidity in Gqeberha is not the same as the dry cold of Graaff-Reinet, and equipment behaves differently from site to site.
How we support good people
Our team includes Anele Mbeki-Jacobs, Ayabulela Ndlovu, Leanne Petersen, Siyabonga Mthembu, Ruan Smit, Nokulunga Dlamini and Yolanda Jacobs. That mix of service, accounts, technical, retrofit and client care work helps us keep jobs moving and customers informed.
We prefer people who can work as part of a small team and still take ownership of their own tasks. If you join us, you will be expected to contribute to maintenance planning, breakdown follow-up and the kind of on-site discipline that keeps repeat faults down. Good people are noticed here, and their effort shows in the work.
Send your CV the right way
If you would like to be considered for future opportunities, email your CV to hello@nvirocool.co.za. Please include a short note with the kind of role you are looking for, the areas you can work in, and your available start date. If you have a driver’s licence, trade papers, site experience, or project experience, mention that too.
- Use a clear subject line with your name and the role type
- Attach your CV in PDF or Word format
- Include contact details that are current
- Mention whether you are based in Gqeberha, Uitenhage, Despatch, Jeffreys Bay, Graaff-Reinet or Port Alfred
We review CVs as openings come up and keep suitable profiles on file for future work. If your background matches our service work, someone from the team will be in touch.
Why people stay with us
People tend to stay where the work is steady, the communication is direct and the team knows what matters. We are not interested in noise for its own sake. We want tidy workmanship, safe practices and proper follow-through on each callout and project.
If that sounds like your kind of workplace, send through your details. We are always interested in meeting people who can help us keep Eastern Cape refrigeration running well, even when the power cuts out and the pressure is on.
